Someone may already have decided that they are going to start a particular course, or go on holiday at a particular time, or have got married. There may be little choice in the matter. Many astrologers look at the chart for the time that a client first contacts them and the time of the first appointment. Such charts can be highly revealing of the main issues concerning the client. So, too, a chart set for a ‘first meeting’ can be extremely revealing of the significance and future course of the relationship. The late poet laureate, Ted Hughes,, who had a good working knowledge of astrology, described the astrological factors surrounding his meeting with Sylvia Plath in his poem ‘St Bartolph’s’ in Birthday Letters and concluded:
